That's a great question. After the excitement of the photo session dies down, the waiting begins. Waiting is hard, but it's worth the result! Here's how the process works:
After a photo session is finished, there is a process called "proofing" that I follow to make sure you get exactly the images you want, edited to perfection! Depending on how busy I am, this can take a few days to a week, and here's what to expect:
First, all the images I captured are transferred from the camera's memory card into the editing software and are backed up on a second hard drive so they won't be lost.
Next, I create a personalized Client Gallery on my website just for your session. The gallery is password protected so your pictures are secure and can't be viewed by others unless you share them.
After a bit of preliminary editing, I'll post "proofs" of all the pictures I made to your gallery.
I will send you a link to the gallery, and ask you to go in and choose your "favorites" for final editing. If you purchased a session that included a certain number of images, that's how many favorites you can choose. If you want more images, they can be purchased for an additional editing fee on a per image basis. Just reach out and let me know.
Once we've agreed on the images you want, I will make a few subtle adjustments so you look your absolute best, and post them for download. I will then send you an email with another link to the favorites that will allow you to download the images you chose in addition to the proofs.
The finished images will be the pictures you want to use for prints, albums, or wall art. If your session includes a print package, it will be included in the cost. Any additional prints or other products will be available for purchase directly from me.
