A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of photographing a beautiful family I've known for a while. I met Devon and Sydney a few years ago when they were still single. I've watched them fall in love, marry, and start a family. This past summer, Sydney posted a picture of their adorable daughter, and I asked: "when are you going to let me take her picture?"
After some back and forth planning, we chose the perfect spot for the pictures: a park near Columbia, PA where the morning sun shining through the huge willow tree provided the perfect lighting for their images.
The weather was perfect, and we ended up shooting for almost 90 minutes. I was so enamored with the scene and with this beautiful family I could have stayed there all day.
What we were able to capture was the very essence of the relationship this family has together. Each image shows the love and joy they have for one another and the happiness they share. Their daughter was perfectly behaved and more attentive and patient with me than I deserved. I can't express how much I love being able to bring out the feelings people have for one another and the joy it brings to capture that moment and portray them at their best. It is such a privilege to be able to do this, I can't imagine anything better. That's why I love photography.
